who are we?

Corey Klassen Interior Design is a Canadian boutique interior design studio obsessed with transforming the awkward and non-functional spaces into contemporary, personalized, and stylish environments. Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, our design studio provides professional interior design services and exclusive designer-only products for our full-service Clients. For self-implementing Clients, we offer set services and work with retailers so they can manage and build their projects on their own or with Contractors. Through each service category, we collaborate with the home or business owner, Architects, Contractors and Allied Professionals.

We are corporate members of the National Kitchen & Bath Association, Designers & Decorators Association of Canada, and the Better Business Bureau.

how we approach projects

The modern values of our Clients have shifted and we know that they are not always looking for a big firm with elaborate and flashy offices. We provide an intimate approach while using technology assets and keeping our operations clean and lean. As Client’s work with us, they want a process that is interactive and less dependent on lengthy face-to-face meetings only available during bankers hours. The benefits are a nimble design process, flat design fees, and involvement in our design process.

Our Client’s believe in the three-legged stool, meaning the Client, Creative, and Contractor work together to execute successful construction and renovation projects.

what we look for in clients

We’re are just as interested in you as you are in us and finding the right fit is essential. We look for Clients who:

  • Are open and honest with us.

  • Value professional design and the time it takes.

  • Trust our design process and stay inside the steps.

  • Are interested in seeing the right options, not every option.

  • Shared a bit of the workload with us.

  • Are prepared for the detours (and there will be a few.)

Corey Klassen founded his interior design firm 8 years ago and in 2017, with about 20 years of industry experience, Corey became a Certified Master Kitchen & Bath Designer (CMKBD) achieving the exclusive status with only 6 other Canadians and about 200 professionals world-wide. He works with Clients focused around private residences, top-notch kitchen and bath projects, and boutique commercial work.

Since establishing his firm, Corey has earned multiple local and international design awards such as Ovation Awards, the coveted NKBA Design Competition held annually in the US, as well as press and media attention with the exclusive DXV Design Council and more. With each project, Corey injects a contemporary playfulness with pattern, colour, and material while elevating the design solutions to be highly functional, accessable, and sustainable.

Corey credits his prairie-roots, cultural heritage and artistic background for his design aesthetic. During an internship at an awarded Architecture firm in Winnipeg, M.B. at 16 years old, he was exposed to a technical and studio environment that elevates his work today. During his Bachelor of Fine Art (B.F.A.) education at the School of Art, University of Manitoba, Corey developed his design, colour, and material aesthetic through the diverse studies of drawing, painting, ceramics, graphic design and history. His master-level achievement is backed by technical interior design studies in Vancouver, B.C. and earning an honours with distinction (Dipl. KBD Hons.). Following his graduation, Corey transferred his classroom learning coaching skills into instructional design and curriculum development in local educational institutions and frequently speaks for professional associations.
