residential interior Services
We provide full-service design for new construction & renovations by collaborating with homeowners & general contractors. We recognize that every project is an investment and that's why our services follow our Client-Focused Design Process billed by flat fee per phase.
When it comes to Residential projects, we provide a turn-key solution for all types of project scales. Hiring us as your interior design firm at the outset of a project integrates the overall aesthetic and function of a home because the majority of the planning and design work we do only requires structural approvals of a Professional Engineer. This methodology increases design details and coordination with product, material and finishes, fixtures and appliance selections for a cohesive look and maximizes the project budget by avoiding unnecessary allied professionals. Our thorough construction drawings are unparalleled in the industry because we care deeply about how the details fit together and how you function in your spaces.

Our Client-Focused Design Process
The CKID Team completes 28 projects per year (on average) while homeowners complete only 1 or 2 projects in their entire lifetime. Our experience has tremendous value to the homeowner. We have spent a lot of time fine-tuning, adjusting and creating our Client-Focused Design Process that aligns our skills and services with our busy clients. We provide a secure online studio platform to keep your project organized with messages, notes, invoices, payments, and design drawings. Using this new platform is how we are efficient with our time and successful with our results.
The Order of Operations
This critical step starts the design projects. We start with a complementary Telephone Interview and from there you book and purchase* the In-Home Consultation. We provide you with instructions and what to expect in our Welcome Package, a detailed Questionnaire, and a face-to-face meeting to fully understand your goals and objectives. From there, we schedule our Proposal presentation. All our Proposals include a flat design fee broken into payments by phase.
*This one-time fee can be used as a design consultation or a deposit toward your first phase within 30 days of meeting.
We kick off your project with a check-measure of critical spaces and confirm any site parameters. We develop layouts and arrive at the final design solution, while selecting ALL products, materials & finishes, fixtures and appliances. A set of preliminary design documents is staged with the General Contractor or Builder for release at the end of our Concepts phase for the purposes of obtaining tenders and hiring. All this time, you have complete access to your project online in your personal studio to make decisions, add inspiration images, and better collaborate with the CKID Team.
You will see less of us during this phase as we are working developing all the construction drawings. These drawings include (but aren't limited to) floor & finishes plans, construction & demolition plans, electrical & lighting plans, interior elevations, details drawings for custom work, and 3D visuals in colour. The final result is a complete project binder for your use (and record) and full-scale plots are issued for construction.
It is extremely critical to book a kick-off meeting with you and your contracted party before demolition starts on the project. During the construction process, we provide you with 2 site visits to verify electrical & plumbing rough-in locations and a material & layout review (additional site meetings are an extra charge.) We also fully support our issued construction drawings and address any issues or concerns that may require modifications to the design based upon limitations or issues discovered during demolition.
