KARLIE in Hot Pink Chiffon Bias Ruffle Halter Gown, Jason Wu
NEW YORK - I sat watching the 8 minutes of awe-inspiring beauty at Jason Wu's 2011 Spring RTW show on Friday. It was over far to quickly. But royal blue is def. the most popular of all the colours for Spring 2011. That and preppy, apparently. So I listened to Wu speak about his inspiration from Beatriz Milhazes, the Brazilian artist who is known for graphically juxtaposing cultural imagery and western ideals. But I think that you can see from the two images below, that there is a correlation here.

Wu said to Nicole Phelps at Style.com "Spring is more dangerous." Wu means that he's taking a risk with the design using bold colours that were more intense than I thought I was going to see. But, that's not entirely true...
Karim Rashid doors @Trendir
Looks like Karim Rashid is on the band wagon… perhaps he secretly snuck into Wu's studio… or whatever. Coincidence, right? But Louis Vuitton already did this a couple years ago with their window designs and white graffiti bags in 2008:
Hmmm… make's me rethink that "Design is not dead" comment from yesterday's post.
