the future of interior design

An instructor asked the class to write two pages on socioeconomics and the the future of the Interior Designer. I found myself looking deep inside to what drives me and keeps me professionally motivated. What I found was that a) I am driven to succeed by my own devices, a skill that was honed and influenced by my mother when I was young; b) I am watching the world crumble before me and we will lose it to future generations; and c) I really like what I do! My mother reminded me of a great quote today.

Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius -- and a lot of courage -- to move in the opposite direction - Albert Einstein
